Day In The Life As COO Of A Bitcoin Mining Organization

Skills & Education

Advice for getting started

You can buy your own machine and start mining in your home, but there are other ways to enter the Bitcoin ecostructure if that's not an option for you. You can enter the market through shares and investments. If you're risk adverse, you could focus on buying shares of public mining companies or equipment companies. There are also Bitcoin meetups in most major cities now. Whether you're interested in development, investment, or power, you can join a network of people through these meetups.

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Accounting and Finance

    University of Phoenix

  • Certification

    Accountancy

    University of Houston

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

There's one standard path to success. You need to complete things—college, career, etc.—in a certain amount of time.

  • How I responded:

I didn't go through the typical journey that society paints as successful. My family didn't have much, so I put myself through college. It took me much longer to finish college while working and raising my son. However, I did succeed in pushing us through. I think we need to get rid of that typical time clock and success narrative that we've created as a society. Everybody comes from different walks of life.

Experiences and challenges that shaped me

  • I had my son while I was in college. As a single mother, I raised my son, educated myself, built my career, and pushed us through the difficult times. Being a single mom helped me have more empathy and become a better leader.
