Advice for getting started
Pay attention to what excites and motivates you—you're the only person who can decide what that is. Others may try to define you—whether that's your parents, teachers, or someone else. Sometimes that advice is relevant to take in and consider. But it's important to pay the most attention to what you like and what motivates you. I've seen that the most successful and happiest people are the ones who stayed true to themselves and their unique paths.
Here's the path I took:
High School
Bachelor's Degree
History
Emory University
Doctorate
Law
Yale Law School
Here's the path I recommend for someone who wants to be a Co-Founder & CEO:
Bachelor's Degree: History
Doctorate: Law

I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana.
2.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history from Emory University, I went on to earn my law degree from Yale Law School.
3.
After law school, I moved to New York and spent a couple of years working for the WilmerHale law firm before realizing that I wanted to transition from law into business.
4.
I joined Frontier Strategy Group as its first chief product officer and moved up to CEO as the company grew—I led the company in helping leaders in large organizations be more effective in their jobs.
5.
I left my role with Frontier Strategy Group to pivot into the education sector—I knew I wanted to make an impact in education, I just wasn’t quite sure yet what that would look like.
6.
I eventually came up with the idea to partner with business schools in order to make business education more accessible through online formats.
7.
With that idea in mind, I reached out to my network and partnered with a group of peers to create ExecOnline.
8.
As CEO, I lead ExecOnline in our mission to help business leaders get the training they need to become more successful.

Messages from Society in general:
Leadership looks one way.
How I responded:
Many people think that leadership comes in one package. They'll say someone is a natural leader while another person is not a leader. That's not true. Leadership comes in many forms. People just need to have the confidence to tap into their inner leader. They can and should become leaders because everyone has a unique perspective to offer the world, which is very powerful. Think about your own passions and be confident that you have the leadership abilities inside of you to make them happen.
