Day In The Life Of An Education Solutions Engineer

My Day to Day

I spend a lot of time speaking with school districts to understand what their needs and challenges are. We try to figure out how we can help them work through some of those issues. I work with our internal sales and operations teams. I'll also give feedback to our development team if a particular course isn't meeting the needs of a district or if a district has a suggestion for doing things differently.

Life & Career Milestones

I've taken a lot of twists and turns

  • 1.

    I earned my bachelor’s degree in social sciences.

  • 2.

    After graduating from college, I went into information technology and telecommunications.

  • 3.

    I spent 15 years working in sales and operations for AT&T.

  • 4.

    While working for AT&T, the company paid for me to go back to grad school and earn my MBA in marketing.

  • 5.

    My company ultimately got acquired and I lost my job—at that point, I reevaluated my career and what I wanted to do.

  • 6.

    I went back to school, got my teaching credential, and then got a job as a high school career and technical education teacher.

  • 7.

    I spent 11 years as a teacher and then decided it was time for the next chapter.

  • 8.

    I transitioned into education technology, which is a great combination of both my business and education backgrounds.

  • I lost my job when the company I was working for was acquired. I was blindsided and devastated. However, it gave me the opportunity to reflect and decide where I wanted to go next and what I wanted to do.
