Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
This will be good for you...make sure you think it will be good for you. Listen to your inner voice and use good judgment. I turned down a promotion because I knew it was not right for me. This was the best move I could have ever made for my career.
How I responded:
I did a lot of soul searching - thought it through carefully before making a decision. I made sure what the consequences of my choice would be for me personally and my career in the long term.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Returned to a career and graduate school while going through a divorce while my mother and sister were suffering from cancer. This was the most difficult time in my life. I faced these challenges with fortitude, conviction and compassion.
