Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

When I was young, my mom called me the Jabberwocky because I loved to communicate with people.

  • 2.

I loved learning about people and their experiences.

  • 3.

Then in college, I studied anthropology and human culture and studied abroad in Spain.

  • 4.

After college, I moved to Chile, then decided to go to grad school to study IR and Comm.

  • 5.

Then I got a job in PR and decided I didn't love PR but loved marketing, communications and events.

  • 6.

And since then, I've had many marketing/comm jobs in different industries-tech, banking, nonprofit.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Myself:

You got laid off during the recession. Going on interview after interview is exhausting. No one is going to hire me.

  • How I responded:

I kept reminding myself in those down times that all I needed was to convince one person - not the whole world - that I was the one for the job. In those times, the problem seemed so big; focusing on the small picture - just one person - made the task easier.
