My path in life has been direct
1.
In high school, I had a project and made a "cellphone wallet". From then on I've wanted to invent.
2.
Chose mechanical engineering because it allowed me to learn how things were made.
3.
Completed two internships to make sure mechanical engineering was right for me.
4.
Got involved in engineering based organizations on campus and went to national conventions.
5.
Not giving up when I made a D in thermodynamics. I came back the next semester and made an A.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
I wish I could be as smart as they are.
How I responded:
I overcame it by realizing I would just have to put in more hours than others may have needed to. I also wasn't afraid to ask for help when I found problems challenging. And lastly, I realized I had my own strengths that others didn't have, so I needed to be thankful for that and show them no one else could do that task as well as I could.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I made sure school was my focus because that is the main reason you attend college. Not to make friends. That will happen but if you don't make the grades to stay there you will be cutting your experiences.
