My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Living abroad helped me gain the experience of what it's like to be a minority.
2.
Moved again in high school to a different part of the country and went through culture shock.
3.
Pursued a degree in social studies to learn more about human motivation and interaction.
4.
Joined the workforce in an entry level position unrelated to my degree.
5.
Learned through experience how business and banking works.
6.
Applied my own insights to that experience to move into new and more challenging roles.

Messages from Myself:
Lots of noise!!! Most of it was probably told to me unintentionally. I have always been quiet and perceived as shy. I didn't necessarily feel like I could be a leader, that I should follow the folks who were outgoing and appeared to be so confident.
How I responded:
To put it simply, by putting myself out there. I'm definitely an introvert. I learned to appreciate that about myself and to value the strengths that introverts have. We're very reflective. I spent a lot of time reflecting about what's important to me: what are my values, what are my passions? I learned as much as I could about my areas of interests and talked about them with people. Speaking about things I'm passionate about built confidence in me and showed me that I can bring value.
