My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
2007: Joined Travelers, Hartford, CT - worked in IT.
2.
2009: Joined Insurance Operations Leadership Development Program.
3.
2010: One year rotation with Travelers Investigative Services supporting Operations & Finance.
4.
2012: Moved to NYC as part of a rotation managing a team that supported Entertainment Underwriting.
5.
2014: Returned to Hartford, for Regional Management position - continued supporting NYC, St. Paul & Hartford employees.
6.
2015: Returned to Travelers Investigative Services as a Leadership Team member - responsible for operations, analytics and compliance.
7.
2016: Placed on a one year IT project developing a case management system for our investigators.
8.
2017-current: Returned to Investigative Services Leadership team.

If you want to make it in business, you need to be in "the city" (i.e., New York City or Boston).
How I responded:
I started my career in Hartford, CT, 10 years ago, with full intentions of moving to "the city." Making the most of opportunities here, Travelers afforded me the opportunity to relocate to NYC where I learned that my home was truly in Hartford. I met my husband and built a life for myself in Hartford and am engaged in my community, which Travelers encourages. My advice is to make the most of each opportunity, pursue your dreams with persistence and be the change for your own future.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Years ago, I hurt my back and it was very painful to sit at a desk for long periods of time. Before jumping into surgery, I was able to work with our accommodations department to get a sit/stand desk to make my daily work life more comfortable.
