Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
I didn't hear discouragement in my pursuit of becoming a career coach. However, as a career coach I hear a lot of clients sharing their discouragement.
How I responded:
At the heart of most everyone is a fundamental desire to help others. Every time we help, we feel purposeful. Also, consider your self talk. Make it a habit to be kind to yourself and this will give space for encouragement to replace discouragement.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I struggled with what to major in and changed at least five times. Fast forward to today and the experience was the birthplace of my core competencies as a career coach today. I have deep empathy when it comes to indecision.
