Day In The Life Of A Clean Energy Nonprofit President

My Day to Day

Every day, I work to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion in clean energy. As the leader of Browning the Green Space, I connect with community organizations, corporate partners, and policymakers to create jobs, build wealth, and reduce energy burdens for communities of color. My day might involve speaking at conferences, advising federal agencies, or leading panels, all with the goal of ensuring a just energy transition.

Skills & Education

Advice for getting started

Figure out what your passion is. What did you enjoy doing at 12 years old? Then determine what's in your toolbox. Your toolbox contains your degrees and resume, and it also includes your unique perspective and experiences. For example, if you're a Black man with an engineering degree, you bring different things to the table than a white woman with the same degree. Finally, figure out where the money is to fund what your goals. Connect with people, find the funding, set a plan, and keep moving.

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Environmental Engineering

    Massachusetts Institute of Technology

  • Graduate Degree

    Environmental Engineering

    University of Michigan

  • Graduate Degree

    Entrepreneurship and Finance

    MIT Sloan School of Management
