Why do humans clash? It may be two neighbors disagreeing over a fence or a devastating worldwide war. Whatever a conflict’s scale, students of peace and conflict resolution seek the causes. They hope eventually to use their skills to help prevent war and encourage peace.

Students of peace and conflict resolution study the teachings of peacemakers such as Martin Luther King, Jr. They also examine the philosophy, sociology, and psychology of war and peace. And they put their knowledge into action by applying concepts to real-world situations, interning at local organizations or even forming their own.
